Frequently Asked Questions

General

Will this dock work with computers that don’t have USB-C or Thunderbolt?
No, the AXIS dock can only be used with a computer that has Thunderbolt (3, 4 or 5) ports, or USB-C ports with DP Alt Mode support. Consult your computer’s manual or the manufacturer’s website to check if your computer’s USB-C ports support DP Alt Mode. Computers with just USB-A connectivity cannot be used with AXIS. ALOGIC manufactures a number of “Universal” docking stations that support USB-A computers, such as the DUCH2 Universal Dual 4K Docking Station.
Can I charge my computer with this device?
This docking station can provide power to charge the connected laptop up to 96W maximum.

96W is sufficient to charge most laptops that are available. There are a few mobile workstation and gaming type laptops however that require more than 96W of power to charge reliably; mainly those that include a dedicated graphics processor (GPU) separate to the processor.

If in doubt as to whether more power is required, please check the power output of the power adapter that was supplied with the computer. If the power adapter is over 100W in size, it should also be connected to the laptop while the laptop is connected to the docking station.
What maximum resolution and refresh rate will my computer display with this device?
Maximum resolutions for the different outputs vary depending on the capabilities of the connected computer. Guidance on achievable resolutions can be found in the resolution support table in the specifications for the product.
